- The Bangladesh government is going to honour 1,668 martyrs of Indian Army, who lost their lives during the Bangladesh Liberation war in 1971.
- The Bangladeshi PM Sheikh Hasina will visit India in December and will hand over the ₹5 lakh reward to martyrs' families.
- The country is also going to raise a war memorial in Bangladesh to honour Indian soldiers.
- India has been ranked 138th in the 2016 ICT Development Index out of a total of 175 countries.

- Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched the 'Indian Police at Your Call' mobile app at a national police conference in Hyderabad organised by the Intelligence Bureau.
- The app has a map-based interface to let users locate police stations near them along with numbers of the District Control Room and office of the Superintendent of Police.
- Haflong, a hill station in Assam, is hosting Judima', a three-day sports and culture festival between December 18-20.
- The festival was named after the traditional Dimasa rice wine.
- This will focus on promoting Dimasa tribals' culture and give people a chance to take part in adventure sports like trekking and hiking.
- The Indian Railways and IRCTC have decided to include "transgender" as third gender in ticket reservation and cancellation forms, both online and offline.
- The decision is in compliance with a 2014 Supreme Court direction, calling for the inclusion of hijras, eunuchs, apart from binary gender, as third gender.
- This is to safeguard their rights under part III of the Constitution.
- The Jharkhand government has introduced a new law to prevent placement agencies from exploiting people in the name of getting employment outside the state.
- The new law mandates all placement agencies to get a license or proof certificate within 90 days. Any violation carries a fine of up to ₹1 lakh or a jail term of two years or both.
- 100 feet tri-colour unfurled at Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Tarnaka in Hyderabad.
- Dr. Girish Sahni, Director General-CSIR and Secretary, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India hoisted tri-colour.
- The monumental national flag was hoisted on the occasion of Platinum Jubilee year of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).
- The flag stands tall at 100 feet in the sprawling campus of IICT, one of the Premier chemical research laboratories.
- The tri-colour flag measures 30x20 feet.
- Indian Navy’s seventh Landing Craft Utility (LCU) L-57 was launched by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Ltd (GRSE) in Kolkata, West Bengal.
- Important Points to Note :
- LCU L-57 is the largest ship of this kind built anywhere in the world.
- It is the seventh vessel in the series of eight LCU Ships being designed and built by GRSE for the Indian Navy.

- In order to absorb excess liquidity in banking system following demonetisation, the RBI has introduced an incremental Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) of 100% from the fortnight beginning November 26.
- This is estimated to remove around ₹3.24 lakh crore excess liquidity.
- Further, the RBI will review the decision on December 9 or earlier as it's intended to be a temporary measure.
- People have deposited a total of ₹32,631 crore in nearly 1.55 lakh post offices across the country following the demonetisation of high-value currency notes.
- Further, the post offices have exchanged old notes worth about ₹3,680 crore between November 10-24.
- Note : The window to exchange old currency notes over-the-counter at banks and post offices ended on November 24.
- Ride-hailing app Ola has partnered with state-run banks like the SBI and PNB to provide up to ₹2,000 cash on swiping a debit card in selected cabs in Kolkata and Hyderabad through POS machines.
- The week-long service will continue till the end of the month.
- Ola is going to extend the service in other cities including Delhi.

- Late Australian cricket legend Richie Benaud has been honoured with a commemorative Australian 50 cent coin.
- The Australian Mint has announced the release of the coin, which was used for the toss in the third Test at Adelaide Oval.
- The coin, which features Benaud's portrait surrounded by a match's atmosphere, has a limited product mintage of 95,929 coins.
- Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan's film Pink which dealt with crime against women, invited for special screening at United Nations head quarters in NewYork.
Science & Technology
- India hosted the 13th edition of the World Robot Olympiad on the sidelines of trade fair in New Delhi.
- This is for first time India hosted World Robot Olympiad.
- It has been organised by National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the India STEM Foundation (ISF).
- The VLC media player has started supporting 360° videos on its desktop app and released a technical preview of the feature on its website.
- The preview of 360° video-watching is currently available for Windows and Mac computers.
- The full support of the feature is expected to launch by the end of the month.
New Appointments
- Upma Chowdhary was appointed as new Director of Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) at Mussoorie.
- She will be the 23rd director and first woman director of LBSNAA.
- She is going to replace Rajeev Kapoor.
- Pakistan today appointed Lieutenant General Qamar Javed Bajwa as its new Army chief.
- He is going to replace the incumbent chief Raheel Sharif.
- Note : Bajwa had served alongside former Indian Army chief Bikram Singh on a UN mission in Africa's Congo.
Sports Current Affairs
- Sachin Singh became only the third Indian boxer to win a Gold medal at the Youth World Championships after registering a 5-0 unanimous win over Cuba's Jorge Grinan in St. Petersburg, Russia today.
- Indian golfer Aditi Ashok claimed her second successive victory on the Ladies European Tour after winning the inaugural Qatar Ladies Open today.
- She has already won the Hero Women's Indian Open a fortnight ago to become the first ever Indian player to register a win on the Ladies European Tour.
