  • Menace - something that is ​likely to ​cause ​harm
  • Parted - separated
  • Shed tears - cry
  • Reform - make changes in something in order to improve it
  • Massacred - an ​act of ​killing a lot of ​people
  • Seared - to have a ​strong ​unpleasant ​effect on someone's ​feelings or ​memories
  • Stubborn - ​difficult
  • Lax - without much ​care / control
  • Enforce - cause something to happen by force
  • Herald - a ​sign that something will ​happen
  • Firearm - gun
  • Quagmire - dangerous place / situation
  • Enshrined - ​protected
  • Bear arms - to carry weapons

  • Rampage - violent and usually ​wild ​behaviour
  • Lifeblood - most important thing for success / existence
  • Proclaim - announce officially or publicly

  • Intractable - hard to control or deal with
  • Impediment - something that makes ​progress
  • Proclivity - a tendency to choose or do something wrong
  • Unwinding - relax after a period of work or tension
