PRELIMS / MAINS: Preparation
I started preparing after filling the SBI form.I just gave mock test and diligently solved my wrong attempts afterwards
As I was preparing for UPSC so no separate preparation for GK and descriptive paper . I was already reading The Hindu daily and making notes .For almost any competitive examination kindly read newspaper to cover GK. I was very weak in GK in my engg days .
For English : No preparation as I have a strong knowledge base by reading books from my childhood. Those who struggle in this part can build up by practice and smart work.First complete fill in the blanks,error detection,then move to RC and lastly jumbled sentences. I attempt all the questions as this is my strong point and get most of it correct.
For Aptitude and Reasoning : I was very weak in this section . reasoning questions like direction, inequality, relations , I attempt first . I start puzzles only if I have finished all other questions.In aptitude part I aim for clearing sectional cut off and trust English to push the score.I attempt less questions with 100 % surety.
The strategy for selecting questions varies from person to person.what I have written above was mine.You can find yours by analyzing your performance in mock tests . Do not ignore your weak areas during preparation but during exam attempt strong areas first .
Interview / GD - I knew my scores in written will not be very high as I gave less time to SBI preparation. So I focused on improving my scores in Interview. I constructed Mind Maps of all possible questions from my profile. Prepared several GD topics. Did mock interview with friends. That day went there thinking that whatever may be the result , I will enjoy the experience. :) Answered questions with a smile .
