Friends, I am Artee Sharma. I have attended today's (27-06-2014) SBI PO Online Exam.
Today's exam was really tougher than previously held exams (based on reviews)
D.I was eye opener..saved 49 mins for it but I was able to solve only 19 questions..very bad..
General Awareness was lovely..all friendly questions..yeaaaa!! 35 in GA
English was moderate...one can easily score 25...
Reasoning as usual filled with puzzles and could not solved it...
Descriptive again was very good
- Essays-
- Happiness is found on the way itelsf,
- Role of education in cyber bullying,
- Impact of social media on advertising..
- Letters:
- To bank manger to improve the bank giving some solutions
- Job thank letter and 1 more...

I have read many reviews of previous exams from here and from that I predicted the paper is gonna be easy except fot DI.
But paper was much unexpected from the reviews i have read.

GK was not easy it was little more than average .
Overall English section was easy except the 'reading compression ' ...it was hell lengthy , around 15 que from that only . I did'nt read it and attempted only antonym/synonym etc ( will suggest you the same in such cases when paras are too lengthy).
Reasoning was ohk ohk .sitting arrangement question was time consuming
DI ..was pathetic ...
TIP : *Don't take anything on your ego , if you can't catch ans within minutes ..just move on*

overall ppr was much tougher than last years' ppr...
And waste your time on the time that have already came in previous session, coz anything can happen.

- Reasoning== 35 min >>34
- DI == 45 min >>17 que (tukkebazi mat karna)
- GK== 15 min>>40
- total ==128 que
overall ppr was much tougher than last years' ppr...
And waste your time on the time that have already came in previous session, coz anything can happen.

overall GA was simple
GA questions were not in sequence according to subject.
Congrats to both priyanka and artee, u both r almost selected. Gd scores, sudnt expect more than that. Atleast u hv breached the cut off marks. Gr8.

ReplyDeletebut how come other student appeared in descriptive paper......my centre was Naraina phase 1 computer place.they told that some sort of confirmation will be sent to ur email address.

If DI cutoff is kept very low.. You have got a bright chance.
DeleteSectional cut off might be low this year, since DI was pretty time consuming and difficult too.
DeleteBut previous year the last person who got selected had an overall score of 151 (objective+descriptive)
The sectional cut off for DI might be low this year since it was lengthy and time taking..
Deletebut an overall of 85 (approx) is required to clear the cut off , but more important is the fact that previous year the min score in objective paper for evaluation of descriptive paper was 108.
Also the last person to get called for interview had a total score of 151 (objective + descriptive).
So best of luck dude.

DeleteNo matter which Section is hard or which one is easy, individual sectional cut-off's remains in the range of 11-13,.........Take last year for eg DI ws pretty easy still its cutoff ws only 13 same as of English which everyone found hard to tackle and very time consuming, when compared with other subjects............again for 2011, individual sectional cutoff's were in the same range for all the subjects i.e 11-13, but overall cutoff ws 110, way below 151 which ws the cutoff in 2013.
I believe they expect you to score min. marks in every subject, even if it means that ur overall score is low.
Then again, these r strictly my views, n I don't wanna give u any false hopes.
Hope for the best and Prepare for the worst. :-/

Eng - 50 (expecting 40+ correct)
Reasoning - 35 (30 correct)
GA - 42 (30+ correct)
TOTAL - 145 attempts (expecting around 120 correct)
marks in the range of 110-116 out of 200.
Descriptive around 35+
please tell me if there is any chance of selection or shud i start preparing for something else from no today.

DeleteGoing by the confidence u r displaying......i dont think u will be able to get even 80 correct ans.
DeleteDont blame me, u already doubt urself with 31 questions, m just subtracting another 34, as I see u r not a confident person, and when u r not confident about urself how cn u b confident about questions dat u assume r correct.
For ur referendum on whether to start preparing for next exam, dats again totally stupid, as u shld never stop preparing even if u r sure of selection, anyways result will b out within a month.

I took paper on 15th. My gut feeling is this SBI po gona same way as IBPS 3. Though cut off mark will be around 70-75 but to convert it into gd/interview one may need around 115-120 in obj + 20 in discp. total 135-140. As seat is less and SBI can surprise any time with low ratio of candidate to seat.
ReplyDeletei also attended the exam on 27th june.3 sections : GA, English and Reasoning was much easier than expacted. but the DI part was game changer. I saved 45 minute for this section but solved only 20 questions and 4 guess answer. also the topic of descriptive was so simple.

Nope, I doubt it big time.
DeleteYou wont be able to get extra marks just bcoz this was ur first attempt, if thats what ur thinking.
You shld have attempted in the range of 110-130, to even stand a chance.

In this sbi po exam 2014 i personally feel tha DI is the deciding factor for anyone selection because others section was average
