Dear friends, finally we got time to review the upcoming RBI Grade B Officers Exam 2014. As the exam pattern of RBI is slightly different than remaining banking exams, today we shall discuss about the exam pattern and some important points you should keep in mind about this exam. In our next post we shall discuss the Syllabus and Preparation plan.

Before going into details, you can check the RBI Grade B Officers Recruitment notification 2014 from here

Recruitment Process :
As you might have already observed in the notification, the selection process consists of three phases. First two pages consists of written tests and the third phase consists of interview. Phase I exam is of Objective type online exam. Phase II is descriptive test.

RBI Grade B Officers Exam Pattern 2014

1st Phase : Online objective test

This phase is online objective test. This is of 200 marks. You should solve it in 130 minutes. This exam is almost similar to SBI Probationary Officers exam (there are some differences which we shall discuss below). You will have the sections, General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning. The sectional wise allocation of marks and questions is little different when compared to normal IBPS and SBI PO exams. The General Awareness section takes the lion's share in this exam. Second importance will be given to the reasoning section. Let's have a look at the allocation details....

3rd Phase : Interview

Based on your performance in Phase II exam, you will be called for interview. In interview, you can answer in English / Hindi (no other language will be permitted). You will be asked questions from your family and educational background, economy and current affairs.

Important Points to Note :
  • Negative Marking is there for objective test (Phase I). 1/4th of the mark will be reduced.
  • As they have assigned maximum marks for General Awareness, you should focus more on this area. The syllabus will be completely different from bank exams (we shall discuss it tomorrow). You can expect maximum number of questions from Economy.
  • There will be no Non Verbal reasoning questions.
  • Candidates belong to General category can appear for this exam for only 4 times. There is no restriction for other categories.
That's all for now friends. In our next post we shall discuss the Syllabus and Study plan along with the reference book details of RBI Grade B Officers Exam 2014. All the Best :)
