Below are the details of questions I have attempted :
- English-24 (2 RC-20, 5-Synonyms/Antonyms, 5-Error Detection,5-Fill in the blanks, 10-Passage Completion)
- General Awarness-34 (NAM next summit venue, SBU-Strategic Business Unit-3 Que, India at Risk-Jaswant Singh Book, Canara Bank Brand Ambassador- Shikhr Dhawan, Initiative Bank on Wheels by- ICICI etc.)
- Data Interpretation-9 (Too much calculation in this section. Caselet-7 Que New Initiative this time because this sort of question asked in IIM & SNAP level exam.)
- Reasoning-20 (Syllogism-5, 10-Puzzle Test, Theme Detection-10, Data Sufficiency-5, Input-Output-10)
I have attempted 86 questions with around 70-75% accuracy. One suggestion is that do as much practice as you can do to crack DI Section. If you able to crack DI section that means your chances to crack SBI PO exam raise. This is only section in which anybody can stuck during exam.
Now we look at my review of the Descriptive paper:
- Any One Letter 10 Marks ( Congratulate him/her for passing PO exam and ask him/her for guidance/ Bank manager ask furniture supply for quotation/ Letter to bank manager regarding issuing new ATM card)
- Passage any one 8 Marks (Qualities of good manager, why require good credit-policy, Mass-Media good or bad?)
- RC 10 Marks (Paragraph related to banking industry policy- 5 question- Carry 2 marks each)
- Precis Writing 12 Marks (About Changing of Banking Operation since 1960. Use of Information Technology in Banking Industry)
- Essay Writing 10 Marks (Advantages of Regular college education over Distance Education and other 2 topic which I forget)
So overall, It was a nice experience. Hope for best, All the best to remaining SBI PO candidates.

ReplyDeleteIt was a nice experience, i too gave today's evening session exam.the DI section is d real vilain of this years exam........Plz guys do attend it at the last and search for the easiest ones by just going glancing it bfre starting this section.....it was too tough.Rest of the sections were of average dificulty.....ALL D BEST....
ReplyDeleteeven I attended the first morning session today and was stuck in DI. I would suggest all my friends to attend reasoning and DI first. Last moment, you won't even understand the questions coz of tension and less time. Even while attending DI and reasoning, start from the last question as they will be bit easier ....ALL THE BEST :)
ReplyDeleteplease provide details about SBU.
ReplyDeleteReasoning was ok but the puzzles i found confusing...go through it once but dont waste time on it.....rest syllogs and inequality questions, data sufficiency all were easy.......

Hi Friends,
ReplyDeleteI had my exam on the 21st June in the evening session.
Please note that admit card says the exam begins/be at the centre at 1PM but its of no use.Officials start the exam formalities only after 2PM. Plan to reach the centre accordindly.
Coming To Analysis:
DI :
Well people are not wrong for blaming it. It has very lengthy calculations. I would advice just try and solve about 15 and try and maximise attempts in other section. It has very little return for time the time invested.
English:
Really a breather. Would not be an issue for most of the students. Just make sure that both the RCs are attempted. This section can make or break your chances. My advice would be devote some more time on this section. Error finding is moderate. Fill in the blanks, paragraph arrangement, antonyms and synonms are comparitely far easier.Should be a high scoring section.
GA:
Our session had less of current affairs and more of banking awareness. Current and banking questions are easy. Most of the CA/GA questions have already been discussed above.
I found computer section to be moderate to hard. You need not panic. I was not well prepared so it might have been difficult for me.
I find it really surprising that people are saying Marketing section was easy. It doesn't have the usual questions which we get from online stuffs. It is beyond basic marketing. Some of the terms I hadn't even heard of. Very bizzare questions. In my view only management graduates can answer such questions.
Overall, a section where 30 could be attempted easily.I resorted to flukes in marketing section :(
Reasoning:
This section is a trap for those who are overly confident about puzzle solving. Some sets can be best described as NOT TO BE ATTEMPTED. Choose sets wisely after going through all the questions containing sitting arrangement, matching people with profession stuff etc. Most of the sets take 8-10 minutes which is what one cant afford in a time bound exam.
Questions on verbal, Input Output, Assumptions/Inferences and Syllogisms(Some cats are dogs) are easy.Try and attempt these. My advice: Proceed to the sets only after attempting these easy parts and most importantly be quick to leave any set where you are stuck.
I am amongst those who really don't believe in number of questions attempted but rather maintaining a high accuracy. I got stuck in one of the sets and lost crucial time in reasoning section. Don't repeat my mistake. My attempts:
GA : 42 (kuch tukka bhi hai-- Marketing)
ENG:50
Reasoning:30
DI: 14
Total: 136.
Coming to Subjective Paper:
1. Essay on :
Elaborate how mass media and internet have adversely affected communication with family members
2. Reading comprehension based on how banks indulge in charging excessive interest from customers.
3.Precise : Based on the role played by Information Technology in changing the face of Banking Sector.
4. Paragraph writing:
Qualities needed in a Good manager
OR
How helpless is man in the face of nature's fury.
OR
Some topic related to Banking. Can exactly recall.
5. Letter Writing:
Letter to a friend informing about your selection in PO exam and thanking him for his well wishes and guidance .
Try and practise writing some essays beforehand, This section has been the same since ages.
Wish you all the best!!!

ReplyDeletei attempted
ReplyDeletetotal -95 attempt
DI- 22(may be 100% accuracy)
GK- 29(may be 100% accuracy)
LR- 24(may be 90% accuracy)
ENG- 20 (may be 75% accuracy)
how sbi make equal standard for different paper on different days..
As its my first experience I want to share my todays 22/june exam experience..Our computer screen was just 15 inches of size...couldn't even see DI sections tables and charts at one sight. we all had to scroll up down left right to see the tables and charts. it wasted my time alot. and also my computer got hanged for a min 3 times. So I asked the invigilator to solve the issue. then he signed in my roll no with another pc. where a candidate was absent..thanks to that candidate. don't know how that college would have managed if there were no absentees. sbi should have some specifications for the computer size screen and hanging issues.IT DIVERTS ALOT.data interpretation question with tables and charts on 40% size of pc screen.!!! is it a way to filter a competition or what.
