Hi Friends, Myself Sagar Kadam (B.E. - IT) and I had my interview on 2nd January 2014 in Bank of Maharashtra (Mumbai) at 1 PM panel 4... I would like to share my interview experience...

Entered the interview room by asking permission "May I come in Sir??" which was answered by an "Yes" followed by asking me to take a seat which I responded by saying "Thank you Sir"....Very important to be confident n hide ur nervousness which is normal to happen....Believe that d panel is there to select u and not to reject...

Three Sirs and a Madam consisted of ma panel....

As soon as I entered, I wished them Good Afternoon and took my seat with a Thanks and smile on ma face....
1st Member - Observer...dint hear his voice at all as he never asked me a question..probably he was just observing me thruout and giving marks for ma confidence, way of talking and  eye contact etc.....
2nd Member (Started the interview) : Which year did u pass ur BE??
Me : May 2007...
2nd Member : So u have experience of 5 years in IT den y did u want to get in Bank?
Me : Sir, I have an exp. of 5 years but not in IT only....I have worked in IT field for just 1 and a half year and den moved to non technical profile of Marketing and Business Development....After d recession struck on 2009 I moved to Dubai in a non technical profile and carried it till now...
2nd Member: So y u wana join banks???
Me: it is definitely one of d fastest growing sectors and it has job security and a high prestige job...
2nd Member: So it is a fast growing sector....can u tell me d statistics abt d growth??
Me: I said I sorry don't know d statistics but I know dat its higher than d previous year for sure...
2nd Member: Wat is d difference between credit n debit card??
Me: Explained properly with xample.....
2nd Member: Do we need to enter Pin for d transactions?
Me.: Yes Sir...RBI has mandate to enter pin frm dec 1st 2013.....
3rd Member (Jumped in and started in Marathi Language): How can an illiterate person use card if he doesnt know how to use it and enter d pin....
Me: He can approach d bank and definitely banking personals can help him understand how to use it and how to enter d pin n all...
2nd member(interrupted): Is there ant ATM withot a PIN??
Me: No Sir...Every ATM needs PIN to be entered...
3rd Member (Smiling as if to make me feel nervous and loose my confidence): What abt d ppl in rural areas who are illiterate and how will dey be able to use cards n all....
Me: Awareness and training is required.....I told dem abt financial inclusion which aims dat every citizen of India shud be able to use banking...today we have a big part of ur population who have never seen a bank and never heard abt cards n all...so to make financial inclusion a succes it is important to create awareness amongst such ppl in rural areas....hold campaigns and teach dem abt banking....its important to gain deir trust and faith in banking and for dat banking has to go out explore such places and traing ppl to use banking...after all dat is d goal of financial inclusion...I concluded by saying dat it requires a lot of patience and genuine efforts to make dis possible...
3rd Member (I think he was definitely impressed but still tried to play games wid me): He said its very easy to say all dese...have u ever seen a village??? I am not talkin abt places like panvel n beyond...(I reside in Panvel)..but places with are very much rural...where der is no water no electricity...
Me: Yes Sir...in fact I belong to one of such villages in Konkan...where there is no school no hospital in d vicinity of 20 kms... it is located in middle of mountains and we need to go to oder part of the village to even buy groceries...however now d condition has bettered over past few years....
2nd Member: How often do u visit ur village??
Me: Used to visit every year during my schooling time in Summer vacations...n in last 5 years 3-4 times.....
 (now d 2nd member asked the only lady interviewer if she wants to ask me anythng)

Lady Member: What is d economy of Dubai?
Me: First I said Dirhams (Suddenly I realized she is asking abt economy n not currency)....and the economy is basically business...Dubai doesnt produce anythng of its own...its a business hub..(den i explained with an example..) like if u want to buy 2 different products from 2 different countries which they specialize in...den u dnt need to go to dose 2 different countries,,instead u can go to dubai and find both the products in one place...so basically its a business hub where business people dump their products and buyers buy it..so tourism...business..and hotel industry is deir main economy...(i think she was quite impressed as i explained with an example..)
2nd Member: so anybody else wants to ask anything...he pointed to the 1st member who dint utter a word till den and continued to do d same by just shaking his head in refusal.....I was asked to leave den...
 I thanked them all for the interview and left d room wid a smile....
(It seems to be a long interview as i have explained in very detail but d total duration was around 8-10 mins only..)
