- India and Thailand to sign treaty, that would enable them to swap prisoners.There are currently 60 Indians serving terms in Thai prisons mostly on charges of drug trafficking and a few attempted murder and theft.

- Chhattisgarh government today decided to set up a dedicated cell to conduct a survey of child and bonded labourers in every district of the state and take steps for their rehabilitation. To eliminate the practice of child and bonded labour, the government took this decision during a high level meeting headed by Chief Secretary Sunil Kumar.
- Today is birth Anniversary of religious, social, educational Reformer Raja Ram Mohan Roy, who challenged traditional Hindu culture.
- Kerala CM Oommen Chandy won UN's Public Service Award for Mass Contact Programme, which directly engaged him with people of the state.
- Goa to host a day-long conference on May 26 to promote better sense of road safety and civic sense among people.
- India successfully test fired the 290Km range BrahMos supersonic cruise missile off the Goa coast.Jointly developed by India and Russia, the BrahMos is capable of carrying a conventional warhead of 300 kg. The missile can cruise at a maximum speed of 2.8 Mach (or 2.8 times the speed of sound).
- Total population of Himachal increased by 12.9 % in last decade and it is now 68,64,602 as per census data 2011, released in Shimla today.
- In Andaman and Nicobar islands, the Census 2011 final data for the islands has been released today.
- Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf chief ImranKhan recovering speedily after fracturing his spine in a freak accident at an election campaign meeting is expected to leave hospital.

- Anil Swarup has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment in the Government of India. He is a 1981 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre.
