Before going to know about Nobel Prize Winners for the year 2012, let us share some basic important points about Noble Prize.
Nobel Prize - A Brief Introduction : The prestigious Nobel Prizes were established in the will of a Swedish chemist and inventor named Alfred Nobel (the inventor of Dynamite). It is an international award given yearly by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, Sweden since 1901 for achievements in physics, chemistry, medicine, literature and for peace. In 1968, the Bank of Sweden instituted the Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel, founder of the Nobel Prize. Each prize consists of a medal, personal diploma, and prize amount.

Nobel Prize for Medicine Winners 2012:
Researachers John Gurdon of Briton and Shinya Yamanaka of Japan won this year’s Nobel Prize in Medicine on 8th October 2012 (Monday) for discovering that mature, specialized cells of the body can be reprogrammed into stem cells. The prize committee at Stockholm’s Karolinska Institute said the discovery has “revolutionized our understanding of how cells and organisms develop.”

Nobel Prize for Physics Winners 2012 :
Serge Haroche of France and David Wineland of America have jointly won the 2012 Nobel Prize for Physics. The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has announced that the French-American duo shared the 2012 Nobel Prize in Physics on 9th October 2012(Tuesday) for inventing Methods to observe the bizarre properties of the quantum world, research that has led to the construction of extremely precise clocks and helped scientists take the first steps toward building.

Nobel Prize for Chemistry Winners 2012:
The Nobel Prize Commttee Anounced 10th October 2012(Wednesday) that American Scientists Robert J Lefkowitz and Brian K Kobilka have won Chemistry Nobel Prize for year 2012. They won this prize for their work on G-protein-coupled receptors, which allow cells to sense light, flavour, odour and receive signals from hormones and neurotransmitters.

Nobel Prize for Literature Winner 2012:
The winner of the 2012 Nobel prize for literature is announced at the Swedish Academy in Stockholm as Chinese author Mo Yan. Mr Mo Yan won the 2012 Nobel prize for literature on 11th October 2012(Thursday ) for works which combine "Hallucinatory Realism" with folk tales, history and contemporary life grounded in his native land. Mo Yan is a pen name meaning 'don't speak'. Mo's real name is Guan Moye. The prize, awarded by the Swedish Academy, is worth 8 million kronas ($1.2 million).

Nobel Peace Prize Winner 2012 :
Norwegian Nobel Committee on Friday (12th October 2012) has announced that the Nobel Peace Prize for 2012 is to be awarded to the European Union (EU). The European Union won this prestegious prize because The union and its forerunners have for over six decades, contributed to the advancement of peace and reconciliation, democracy and human rights in Europe.

Nobel Prize in Economics Winners 2012 :
American economists Alvin E Roth and Lloyd S Shapley were awarded the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in memory of Alfred Nobel for the year 2012. Mr Alvin E Roth is from Harvard University and Mr Lloyd S Shapley from the University of California, Los Angeles. They won the prize for their research on how to match different economic agents such as students for schools or even organ donors with patients. The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, which made the award, said the 8 million crown ($1.2 million) prize recognized "the theory of stable allocations and the practice of market design".
