Sahitya Akademi Awards 2017 Complete Winners List

The Sahitya Akademi has announced it's annual Sahitya Akademi Awards in 24 languages today (21st December 2017). 7 books of Novels, 5 books of Poetry, 5 books of Short stories, 5 books of literary criticism and one play and essays have won the Sahitya akademi awards 2017, the the second-highest literary honor in India.

The books were selected on the basis of recommendations made by a jury of three members in the concerned languages in accordance with the procedure laid down for the purpose,” K. Sreenivasarao, Secretary, Sahitya Akademi, announced in a statement.

Author Mamang Dai has won the award for his work The Black Hill, an English novel, and Ramesh Kuntal Megh was honored for his book Vishw Mithak Sarit Sagar, a work of literary criticism in Hindi. Here is the complete winners list.

The winners of Sahitya Akademi Awards 2017 will receive a casket containing an Engraved copper-plaque, a Shawl and a Cheque of Rs 1 lakh a special function to be held on February 12, 2018.
