Let's try to understand this with some examples
Let's have a look at some more words with over prefixes, for better understanding.
- Over bridge - a bridge over a railway or road
- Over cloud - covered with clouds
- Overachieve - to do more than you are expected to do
- Overall - taken as a whole; in all
- Overbearing - to ovepower someone or to be bossy
- Overburden - to put to much of a load on something
- Overcharge - to make somebody pay too much for something.
- Overdue = not paid or done by the expected time
- Overestimate - to present something with more value than it actually has
- Overflow - to fill something more than it needs to be
- Overload - to put to much of a load on something
- Overrated - to value something to highly
- Overreact - to react more than you need to
- Overstatement - to exagerate/ give something more meaning than it actually has
- Overweight - heavier than is allowed
- Overwhelm - to overpower someone with to much of one thing
