From the day State Bank of India (SBI) released the notification of its Specialist Officers (read detailed notification here), people have been continuously asking us to upload the syllabus and Preparation materials. But we were unable to provide the same because we were little busy preparing the online practice sets for the upcoming IBPS clerks exam. Now we've got little time. And planned to utilize this to help the aspirants who are appearing for the SBI Specialist officers exam. We will upload the detailed syllabus of SBI specialist officers and study materials followed by model papers. Keep visiting this page for updates. Good Day :)

Complete Syllabus of SBI Specialist Officers Exam

The syllabus of State Bank of India (SBI) Specialist Officers recruitment exam consists of 4 Sections. The first 3 sections are common for all the posts. Those are English Language, Reasoning and/or Quantitative Aptitude. The fourth section is Professional Knowledge (PK) section. There is NO Current Affairs or General Awareness section in this exam. Except Professional Knowledge (PK) paper, other papers will be of qualifying in nature. Candidates have to score minimum qualifying marks in these papers. The minimum qualifying marks will be decided by the Bank. The question paper will be bilingual i.e. in Hindi & English. The candidates will have option to answer the questions in Hindi or English (except for test of English Language). According to the sources, maximum chances are there for the exam being conducted Online. To be eligible for being short-listed for interview, candidate have to score equal to or above the Cut-off marks to be decided by the Bank for the PK test, besides scoring equal to or more than the Minimum qualifying marks in other tests. 

The syllabus for the English Language, Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude will be same as the normal Probationary Officers Exam. For the PK (Professional Knowledge) section, the candidates have to prepare the key subjects of their specialization. You can get the basic idea of the Professional Knowledge syllabus on Qualification section section of the Notification.

Preparation Materials and Model Papers for SBI Specialist Officers Exam

There are 24 various posts for this exam. Of the areas Economist, Chartered Accountant, Computer / System, Engineering, Official Language, Law, Security, Fire & Safety. We cant help you with materials with all these areas.. But being Computer Graduates... we can help the people who are appearing for the computer related areas.

      Well, there is no specific syllabus for Professional Knowledge Friend. The questions will be based on your core subjects (in your case Programming Knowledge, Operating Systems, Networking etc)

      Paper will be of Objective type only Priya... And as I already said, its not possible to upload the syllabus Priya because SBI dint say anything about the professional knowledge syllabus... We fear that our readers may restrict to our mentioned topics only... SO we humbly request you people to prepare your core subjects well... (one hint : Just check for what areas they've stressed in the notification).

      If you apply as a Fresher, then you will be asked the topics from your core subjects srujana (CN, OS, Programming Knowledge (logic) etc). If you are applying for experienced, they will mainly target on the area of the experience they've asked for. And sorry srujana, there are no previous papers available (because people used to pay less attention on these type of exams. so no previous papers came out).

      It depends on the paper you gonna give Friend. For some posts (like systems), they have asked for freshers. So maximum chances are there for some questions being asked about programming knowledge. Ofcourse, OS, Networking and DBMS too necessary. But those are not enough....

      There will be the Algorithm Like questions priya. I mean, they will give you simple logic and ask you for the expected output. Or some times will ask you for the error in the given code (4 or 5 lines maximum).

    Thank you shivani for your gret help. Your materials re really useful. I want to share the features of todays Online SBI Specialist officer exam.. hope it will help IBPS online Clerk Exam candidates to stay cautious...

    * If u press a single key of the keyboard during exam (even if accidentally) your system will get hang.
    * No PREVIOUS button present to move back.
    * Quantitative is tough and time taking considering an online exam.
    * Not a single question had "None of these" option.
    * Have to submit the rough sheet provided after the exam.

      We've a number of comments in pending Shabbir. So it take time to get your comment answered. The individual cutoff for clerks will be around 15 marks. And as per last year notification you are eligible for IBPS SO, lets check the detailed notification of this year. The notification gonna out by 10th of this month.

    I am a software engineer working with one of the leading Indian IT MNC. There are few points I would like to clarify regarding the syllabus for the post of Assistant Manager (Systems).
    1) Programming , Networking and Operating System. What else apart from these topics are likely to be asked in the examination?
    2) What depth will the questions be asked in the examination. For instance I recently went through the pdf uploaded against Programming which majorly consists of Data Structures in C Language.
    3) Post qualification in the written examination, what are the key topics to be asked in the Personal Interview as well. By key topics I would to clarify that since I being a software professional is working in more organization oriented Software unlike the basic C language.

    Kindly clarify the above queries. Thanks in advance.
