Hello everyone, in our Lesson 28, we learnt about the prefixes Extra and ExtroExtra, Extro represents the meanings outside; beyond. Today we shall see the prefix fore. Happy Reading :)

Day 29 : Fore

  • fore - before; in the front of
    Let's try to understand this with some examples
    • forehead (noun) = the part of the face above the eyes and below the hair
      • fore - Prefix = before 
      • head - Root = head 
    • foretell (verb) = to know or say before what will happen in the future
      • fore - Prefix = before
      • tell - Root = say; tell
    Let's have a look at some more words with fore prefixes, for better understanding.
    • forecast = a statement about what will happen in the future 
    • forebrain = the front part of the brain 
    • forefather = a person in your family who lived a long time ago 
    • foreword = a short introductory essay preceding the text of a book
    • forefather = person from an earlier time who contributed to a tradition
    • foreground = the part of a scene that is near the viewer
    • forenoon =  the time before noon (morning)
    • foremost = ranking above all others
    • foreshadow = to give a hint of beforehand
    • forewarn = to warn in advance
    • foremost = most important; first in time, place or order

      4. -astro
      a. take

      c. sharp
      d. life
