- Ambition - something that you very much want to do, usually something that is difficult to achieve
- Renewable energy - renewable energy and natural materials replace themselves by natural processes, so that they are never completely used up
- Tweak - to make small changes in order to improve something

- Directorate - a part of a government department that deals with a particular area of activity
- Remedy - a solution to a particular problem
- Body blow - a serious problem or a great disappointment, especially one that is sudden and unexpected
- Rely - to depend on or trust someone or something
- Threatening - showing or saying that someone is likely to do something that will harm you
- Rooftop - used about something that is built on a roof
- Compound - a combination of things
- Elsewhere - in or to another place or other places
- Hold off - to deliberately delay doing something
- Implausible - difficult to accept as true

- Persuade - to make someone agree to do something by giving them reasons why they should
- Contend - to claim that something is true
- There is no denying - used for saying that something is clearly true
- Triumph - a great victory or success
- Immortalise - to make someone or something famous for a very long time
- Glory - admiration and praise that you get because you have done something impressive
- Phenomenal - extremely impressive or surprising
- Strained - not relaxed or friendly
- Reputation - the opinion that people have about how good or how bad someone or something is
- Massive - very large or heavy
- Doping - the use of drugs to enhance sporting performance
- Scandal - a situation in which important people behave in a dishonest or immoral way that shocks people
- Allegation - a statement that someone has done something wrong or illegal even though this has not been proved
- Wrongdoing - behaviour that is illegal or not moral
- Spotlight - a situation in which you get a lot of public attention
- At stake - if something like money, a job, or someone's reputation is at stake, it is in danger of being lost because of a particular situation
