  • Unprecedented - never having happened or existed before
  • Crisis - an urgent, difficult, or dangerous situation
  • Judiciary - the part of government that consists of all the judges and courts in a country
  • Accountability - a situation in which people know who is responsible for something and can ask them to explain its state or quality
  • Compromise - to risk harming or losing something important
  • Confrontation - a situation in which people or groups are arguing angrily or are fighting
  • Rift - a disagreement between two people or groups
  • Turmoil - a state of excitement or uncontrolled activity
  • Impeach -to formally accuse a public official of a serious crime relating to their job
  • Motion - a formal proposal that people discuss and then vote on in a meeting or debate
  • Dissent - strong disagreement, especially with what people in authority think or with what the majority of people think
  • Simmering - something that is simmering is controlled but may burst out at any time, often violently
  • To the fore - into a position of importance
  • Ramification - a complicated or unexpected way in which a decision, process, or event affects other things
  • Insinuation - to say something unpleasant in an indirect way
  • Bribery - the crime of giving money or presents to someone so that they will help you by doing something dishonest or illegal
  • Master of the roster - privilege of the Chief Justice to constitute Benches to hear cases
  • Prerogative - a right that a particular person or group has
  • Consultation - discussion between people or groups before they make a decision
  • Plurality - a large variety of people or things
  • Exercise - to use a skill or personal quality, especially in order to avoid problems
  • Counter-argument - an argument against another argument, idea, or suggestion
  • Address - to give attention to or deal with a matter or problem
  • Colleague - someone who works in the same organization or department as you
  • Concern - a feeling of worry about something, especially one that a lot of people have about an important issue
  • Consultative - providing advice, information, or help on a particular subject
  • Perceive - to understand or think about something in a particular way
  • Regime - a system or form of government
  • Under (one's) thumb - under another's authoritarian control
  • Weigh - to consider all the aspects of a situation carefully before making a decision
  • Imperil - to put someone or something in danger
  • Allegation - a statement that someone has done something wrong or illegal even though this has not been proved
  • Advisedly - if you use a particular word advisedly, you have thought carefully about it before you use it
  • Envisage - to have something as a plan or an intention
  • Rigorous - strict, or severe
  • Safeguard - to protect something or someone from being harmed or having problems
  • Inquiry - an official examination of a crime, accident, problem etc, in order to get information or the truth
  • Dispense - to provide something such as a service, especially officially
  • Common wealth - a group of countries that have the same political or economic interests
  • Relevance - the quality of being directly connected with and important to something else
  • Re-energise - to make someone feel full of energy or enthusiasm again
  • To begin with - used for introducing the first thing in a list of things you are going to say
  • Summit - a meeting or series of meetings between leaders of two or more countries
  • Former - used for describing someone or something that had a particular job, title, status etc in the past, but not now
  • Colony - a country that is controlled by another country
  • Infrequently - not very often
  • Owing to - because of something
  • Charm offensive - a series of actions intended to get people to like and trust you so that you can influence them
  • Host - a place or organization that arranges a special event and provides the area, buildings, equipment, or services needed for it
  • Revive - to make someone become conscious or alive again
  • Amidst - if something happens amidst particular feelings or events, it happens while people have these feelings or while these events are happening
  • Bolster - to make something stronger or more effective
  • Skip - to avoid doing or having something
  • Bilateral - involving two groups or countries
  • Indifference - lack of interest
  • Outcome - the final result of a process, meeting, activity etc
  • Underwhelming - not exciting, not impressive, or disappointing
  • Succeed - to replace someone in an important or powerful job or position
  • Democratically - involving elections in which people vote for their political representatives
  • Substantive - important or serious
  • Counter - an action that you take in order to oppose or stop something or reduce its negative effect
  • Initiative - the ability to decide in an independent way what to do and when to do it
  • Road map - a plan or set of instructions that makes it easier for someone to do something
  • Deport - to send someone out of a country, usually because they do not have a legal right to be there
  • Immigrant - someone who comes to live in a country from another country
  • Immigration - the process in which people enter a country in order to live there permanently
  • Aid- help with doing something
  • Adopt - to decide to start using a particular idea, plan, or method
  • Egalitarian - supporting a social system in which everyone has equal status and the same money and opportunities
  • Partake in - to be involved in an activity
  • Forefathers - people belonging to your family or nation who lived a long time ago
