  • Indeed - used to express that something is correct
  • Shielding - protecting
  • Electoral - relating to an election
  • Seemingly - appearing to be something, especially when this is not true
  • Ascension - the process of moving to a higher level or position
  • Apprehensive - feeling worried about something
  • Hankering - a strong feeling of wanting something
  • Blame - to say or think that someone or something is responsible for an accident, problem, or bad situation
  • Reckoning - a calculation or measurement
  • Inevitable - impossible to avoid or prevent
  • Reconciled - to find a way in which two situations or beliefs that are opposed to each other can agree and exist together
  • Responsive - making a positive and quick reaction to something or someone
  • Lineage - the people in your family who lived in the past, especially when you come from a rich or important family
  • Fractious - easily upset or annoyed, and often complaining
  • Legitimacy - ability to be defended with logic or justification
  • Willingness - readiness (the quality or state of being prepared to do something)

  • Antithesis - the exact opposite of something
  • Plunge - to fall quickly from a high position
  • Wholeheartedly -  enthusiastically and completely
  • Get hands dirty - to do physical work
  • Taking blame - to take the responsibility for something that happens (especially something bad)
  • Synonymous - having the same meaning / closely connected with each other

  • Ferocious - frightening and violent

  • Ongoing - happening at the present moment
  • Breaching - the act of breaking a law, rule, or agreement
  • Air-borne - in the air, or carried by air or wind or by an aircraft
  • Campaign - a series of actions intended to produce political or social change
  • Civilian - someone who does not belong to the armed forces or the police
  • Casualty - someone who is injured or killed in an accident or military action

  • Dilemma - a situation in which a difficult choice has to be made between two different things
  • Dubious - not completely good, safe, or honest
  • Derail - to prevent something from continuing in the way that it was planned
