Syllabus of RBI Grade B Officers Exam (Phase I) 2014

Prepare accordingly.
- Important Points to Note :
- If you are already preparing for IBPS bank exams, then you can use the same Banking Awareness material for RBI Grade B Officers exam too. You can paralelly prepare both IBPS PO and RBI Grade B officers exam as the syllabus is almost same.
- You can completely avoid regular current affairs stuff if you feel you don't have enough time. But you should get good command over the current economy of India and world.
- Its better to read any of the following business news papers daily.
- Business Standard
- Financial Express
- The Economic Times
- The Hindu Business Line
- If you can't afford buying them, then just follow their websites regularly. Try to read atleast one article per day and make notes. This not only helps you in your General Awareness preparation, but also helps you for the reading comprehension questions of English Language section.
English Language : This will be the easiest section of this exam. You will get 30 questions from this section. If you have good command over the English grammar. You should work with your vocabulary, antonyms and synonyms. You can expect questions from fill in the blanks, sentence arrangement, sentence correction, phrases, substitution of words (5 marks for each topic). If you are not good at English, then its better to start your preparation with any English grammar book of your local language.
- Important Point to Note : For reading comprehension, you will get a passage from Economic news. So its better to read any of the above mentioned dailies. Try to understand each and every sentence at the first glance itself. The more you read, the more you can improve your speed reading skills.

- Important Point to Note : As we don't have the topics Geometry, Algebra, Trigonometry and Mensuration in banking exams, these topics will be new for you. So, you should focus more on these topics.
Reasoning : This section will be of 60 marks and you can expect questions from syllogisms, input-output, statements and assumptions, cause and effect, relations, directions, arguments, inference, seating arrangements, inequalities, coding and decoding etc. As this is going to be online exam, they may not ask questions from non-verbal reasoning.
