Failure is Not Permanent - Pradeep Mohan

Dear aspirant’s I am Pradeep. I am an average student and also a below average in my school days, all my academic performance is around 60% only, getting 60% was my good sign because that is the minimum percentage required for every reputed government  job. After completing my B.Tech (Information Technology) in VIT University Vellore in the year 2011, my first failure was campus interview (CTS and Wipro). I was sure that, I was well lack of Technical Knowledge. If a person is not selected in campus interview he loses his merit. So I decided to write competitive exams to get a secure job.

I joined in many coaching centers for Civil Services, TNPSC and Bank Exams. I was sure I need only government job but I am not sure about which sector to choose. I have applied for each and every government recruitment exam whichever I was eligible. From December 2011 to December 2013   I was mostly engaged with exams on every Saturday and Sunday, since exam became very common to me I didn’t even focus on particular exam, that is a blunder mistake I have done. But I started to clear some exams like (NICL Assistants, SSC (capf. SI), IBPS Clerk-2011, SBI Assistants, RRB) but failed in all interviews because of interview fear and also by two common question’s.
  1. What are  you doing after completed your B.Tech.in 2011
  2. Why you have not placed in campus interview ? (since I am from VIT).
I was trapped by these questions in each and every interview. Things became more worse and complicated after two years, I was unable to face any of my relatives and have no answer for the most common question, "what you are doing now?" But the happy thing about my struggle was my parents supported me a lot. But it is difficult to satisfy both friends and parents in this situation because friends wanted you to be with them and parents wanted you to study all the time, so it’s very difficult. At last I started to focus on a single exam name IBPS PO-3 and IBPS Clerk-3, I prepared sincerely for PO 3 for 1 month and Clerk for a week (as the syllabus is same for both the exams) and completed my exams well with my experience of two and half years .

IBPS was very fast in declaring the written result and I was little bit happy about my marks (PO-81 and Clerk 115 for Tamilnadu Region) with these marks I thought I would be in the final list by scoring minimum mark in the interview. So I started to prepare for the Interview . I am once again screwed with same above mentioned questions in the interview. Except those question I was satisfied them with all the remaining technical questions with my answers. After the interview I was in full psychic condition, I was in a great dilemma weather to with stand with  this or move over to any private job, from January to March 31st my character became abnormal. I am an atheist but during this 3 months I was in great dilemma weather god exist or not. Finally a long marathon came to an end at April 1st's morning when I got PO in IDBI Bank with just pass in the interview of 40 marks and clerks in Dena Bank with interview marks 60

I was really sad to hear that many of our friends have failed in the interview, because I could feel your pain. I know how do others make fun of you, but instead of blaming them start trying to rectify our own drawbacks and mistakes. There are a lot of job opportunities in coming year , so please don’t lose hope and don’t believe in luck. Hard work  never fails. Please rectify the mistakes I have done and get the job as soon as possible. Hope to see you soon here. All the best for everyone.

  15. This Good Story Pradeep!!! I also performed very poorly in my Graduation (BE Comp)... But after that I have done MBA Marketing in 2012... I had around 9 months experience in Sales in Private Sector... There is nothing ideal material for any exam... I have cleared both written exam of IBPS PO (Allotted in Bank of Baroda) & IBPS Specialist Officer (Total marks was less then cutt off marks by 2 marks)... Important thing in any Interview is your Attitude (Positive)... Everyone makes mistake in life n this mistakes cost us failure.. But important thing is not to bog down by such failures... In interview accept that you loosed ur focus during graduation n that cost us poor grades.. But show them optimism that your have sorted out your priorities and you know what is expected out of you... Plus show ur eagerness to commit for longer term particularly in Govt Sector...
