SSC Recruitment Exam 2014 - Hindi Translators and Pradhyapak

Friends, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the notification for the Combined All India Recruitment Examination for the posts of Junior Hindi Translators (in Subordinate Offices) , Hindi Pradhyapak in Central Hindi Training Institute and Senior/Junior Translators under Ministry of Defence. All eligible candidates can apply from 22nd March 2014 to 18th April 2014. Check complete details below. All the Best :)

Vacancy Details :
  • Junior Hindi Translators (in Subordinate Offices)(Group-B Non-Technical) in various Central Government Ministries/ Departments/ Offices.
  • Hindi Pradhyapak (Group-B Non-Gazetted) in central Hindi training institute.
  • Senior Translator (Group-B Non-Gazetted) in Ministry of Defence.
  • Junior Translator (Group-B Non-Gazetted) in Ministry of Defence.
Important Dates :
  • Last Date for the Applications : 18th April 2014 (25th April 2014 for the candidates of Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Jammu and Kashmir, Lahaul and Spiti District and Pangi Sub Division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and for candidates residing abroad).
  • Date of the Examination : 8th June 2014
Application Fee :
  • Rs. 100/- (No application fee for Women, SC / ST / PWD candidates
Eligibility Criteria :
  • Junior Hindi Translators (in Subordinate Offices): Masters Degree from a recognized University or equivalent in English/ Hindi with Hindi / English as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level; or the candidates should have earned a Bachelors Degree from a recognized University or equivalent with Hindi and English as main subjects.
    • Note
      • Those candidates who have passed B.A(Hons) in English/Hindi with Hindi/English as subsidiary/(Modern Indian Language MIL) subject are eligible for the post of Junior Hindi Translators. 
      • Candidate must ensure that they have studied English and Hindi as main subjects
        and not as a paper in all three years of BA Pass course
  • Senior Translator and Junior Translator (in Ministry of Defence)
    • Master's degree from a recognized university in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as medium of examination at the degree level. or
      • Master’s degree or a recognized university in English with Hindi as compulsory or elective subject or as a medium of examination at degree level or
      • Master’s degree of a recognized university in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi or English medium and English or Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as medium of examination at degree level or
      • Master’s degree of a recognized university in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi or English as a compulsory or elective subject or either of the two medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at the degree level. AND
    • Recognized Diploma or certificate course in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa or two years’ experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Govt. Offices, including Govt. of India undertakings.
       
  • Hindi Pradhyapak (in Central Hindi Training Institute) : Master's degree in Hindi with English as one of the subjects at degree level either as compulsory or optional or as a language paper from a recognized university or equivalent; or the candidates should have earned Bachelors degree in Education from a recognized university/institute. Also, the candidates are required to have two years of experience of teaching Hindi at senior secondary level.

  1. I have studies BA with English Hons and have studied Hindi as subsidiary paper in BA part -I & Part-II, whether I am eligible for Junior Hindi Translator or not

  2. I am working in MoD and i met a senior translator to clarify on the above mentioned question. Even he was not aware that there is a not given in the advertisement which makes english/hindi hons student eligible for JHT.
