- On December15 the Yemeni parliament passed a law banning drone strikes according to the Saba news agency. The passage of the law comes just days after an attack on a wedding convoy reportedly killed a number of civilians.
National Affairs
- BJP organised a marathon"Run for Unity" in 565 places across the country to mark the death anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and spread the message of good governance and The 49th Inter-IIT Sports Meet, the annual sports competition among all the IITs in the country to begin at IIT Guwahati.
- President Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated the National Energy Conservation Awards Function at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.
- Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda inaugurated the phase-I of Rapid Metro Rail Corridor and also took a ride on a metro train at the 5.1 km long stretch.
- Enhancing the Army Special Forces' capabilities to airdrop combat vehicles and heavy equipment, DRDO has developed a heavy system which can drop loads up to 16 tonnes from the IL-76 transport aircraft using parachutes.
- India is expanding its strategic footprint in the Indian Ocean. A trilateral security group of India, Maldives and Sri Lanka will be expanded to include Mauritius and Seychelles.

- Peter O'Toole, best known for his legendary role in the classic 1962 film Lawrence of Arabia, died this weekend at a hospital in London. He was 81.

- Ethiopian Atsedu Tsegay wins Delhi half Marathon sets new record in the men's category clocking 59 minutes 10 seconds; Kenyan athlete Florence Kiplagat bags the Women's marathon.
- Germany on 15 December 2013 lifted the Men's Junior Hockey World Cup for a record sixth time. In the title clash at New Delhi, defending champions Germany defeated France, 5-2 to retain the title.
