  • Stampede - if a group of animals or people stampede, they all start to run in a very fast uncontrolled way because they are frightened or excited
  • Preventable - capable of being prevented
  • Pedestrian - someone who is walking, especially in a town or city, instead of driving or riding
  • Ghastly - shocking in a way that frightens or upsets you
  • Staircase - a set of stairs, usually with a bar fixed on the wall or onto vertical poles at the side for you to hold on to
  • Inevitable - impossible to avoid or prevent
  • Consequence - a result or effect of something
  • Prolonged - continuing for a long time

  • Adjoining - next to and connected to another building, room, area etc
  • Obstacle - a difficulty or problem that prevents you from achieving something
  • Termini - a large building where train, boat, or bus services start and finish
  • Exemplary - excellent or done in a way that other people should try to copy
  • Compensation - money that someone receives because something bad has happened to them
  • Reinforce - to make an idea, belief, or feeling stronger
  • Accountability - a situation in which people know who is responsible for something and can ask them to explain its state or quality

  • Regressive -  relating to behaviour that is not responsible or controlled

  • Constituency - a division of a country that elects a representative to a parliament
  • Undertake -  to agree to be responsible for a job or a project and do it
  • Blanket - including or affecting everything, everyone, or all cases, in a large group or area
  • Expedite - to make something happen quickly or easily
  • Unwarranted - not fair or necessary
  • Scaremonger - a person who spreads stories that cause public fear
  • Allay - if you allay feelings such as fears, worries, or doubts, you make someone feel less afraid, worried, or full of doubt
  • Concern - a feeling of worry about something, especially one that a lot of people have about an important issue
  • Confront - to deal with a difficult situation
  • Allegation - a statement that someone has done something wrong or illegal even though this has not been proved
  • Fraud - the action of producing false documents or information in order to get what you want

  • Robust - strong
  • Continually -  all the time without stopping
  • Spear-phishing - sending emails to a targeted group of people in an attempt to get important personal details from them
  • Manipulation - behaviour that influences someone or controls something in a clever or dishonest way
  • Susceptible - easily influenced or affected by something
  • Decentralise - to take power from a central government or organization and give it to several smaller and more local ones
  • Accountable - in a position where people have the right to criticize you or ask you why something happened
