Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach has won the Miss Universe 2015 pageant held at Las Vegas today. Miss Universe 2014 Paulina Vega of Columbia handed the tiara to her at the event watched by an audience of nearly 1 billion across the world.


The top three contestants were Miss Universe USA Olivia Jordon (2nd runner-up) , Miss Universe Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez (first runner-up) and Miss Universe Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach. The pagent was  hosted by comedian Steve Harvey. Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo,  American football legend, and winner of 2006 Dancing With the Stars Emmitt Smith, celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, and TV personality Niecy Nash were judging the pageant.

Miss India Urvashi Rautela, who described herself as the 'youngest Indian Bollywood actress to win maximum number of beauty titles in entire pageant history ever' failed to make it to top 15 semi-finals round.
