The 2015 edition of the Indian Premier League ended yesterday's Night (24th May 2015). Mumbai Indians won the title for the second time in the last three years.   • The Indian Premier League (IPL) is an annual Twenty20 cricket tournament, founded in 2008 by the BCCI. 
  • IPL 2015 is the eighth season that was started on 8 April 2015 and ended on 24th May 2015
  • The present Chairman of the IPL Governing council is Rajeev Shukla.
  • There have been a total of 11 teams since its inception. Till present five teams have won the title:  Kolkata Knight Riders (2), Chennai Super Kings (2), Rajasthan Royals (1), Deccan Chargers (1), and Mumbai Indians (2).
  • Chennai Super Kings being the most successful team so far having won the title twice and a semi final berth in all the seasons.
  • The current champions are the Mumbai Indians, who won the 2015 season by beating the Chennai Super Kings by 41 runs.
  • Suresh Raina of CSK has scored the most runs in IPL till now. 
    • He has scored 3671 runs till now.
  • Lasith Malinga of Mumbai Indians has taken the most number of wickets
    • that is, 143 wickets till now.
  • Three teams are now defunct or do not participate for various reasons. They are: 
    • Kochi Tuskers Kerala, 
    • Pune Warriors India and 
    • Deccan Chargers.
  • The Orange cap is given to the player who scores the most number of runs in a particular season. 
  • The Purple cap is given to the player who takes the maximum number of wickets in the particular season.
