• The Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi today launched an online portal SHe-box (Sexual Harassment e-box) for the central government's women employees to file complaints related to workplace sexual harassment. 
• She said the portal would soon cater to women of private companies as well. 
• Uttar Pradesh Power Minister Shrikant Sharma today launched free power connection schemes for BPL families at 624 places across the state. 
  
• The Maharashtra government has lifted the ban on the sale of paan masala until a single-member committee decides on the matter. 
• Note : Maharashtra had banned paan masala in 2014.
• According to a National Commission for Protection of Child Rights' report, Maharashtra and Rajasthan recorded the highest number of cases of child marriage. 
• The Lucknow Metro will become India's first to have its own FM radio station, which will provide entertainment and information on metro safety.

The 55th edition of the US Open Grand Prix Gold 2017 was recently held at Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim, California, United States during 19th to 23rd July 2017. This tournament is important for upcoming competitive exams because Indian shuttler HS Prannoy won this title in Men's single category by beating Parupalli Kashyap. This is his 3rd Grand Prix Gold and maiden US Open title. This was the third all-India final this year, after the Singapore Open and Syed Modi International Badminton Championships. • A US state department has recently revealed that India in 2016 replaced Pakistan as the world's third largest terror target after Iraq and Afghanistan. 
• It added that out of the 11,072 terror attacks across the world in 2016, 927 took place in India. 
• For the first time India is going to host Global Conference on Cyber Space (GCCS) 2017, the world’s largest conference on cyber space and related issues in New Delhi in November 2017. 
• This is the 5th edition of the conference.

SSC CGL 2017 : Modification of Exam Dates

Friends, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has partially modified the exam dates of SSC CGL 2017 Exam. Earlier, the organization has announced that it is going to conduct the SSC CGL 2017 Tier I Exam from 1st August 2017. The call letters for the same should be available by now. But in a recently released notification, the organization has announced that it has slightly changed the dates of SSC CGL Tier I Exam. Now the exam will be held from 5th August 2017 to 24th August 2107 and there will be no exam on 7th, 13th, 14th and 15th August 2017. The call letters of SSC CGL 2017 will be available for download soon. We will let you know once the links get activated.
