Morning Shift Review shared by Priya

This is Priya, from Andhra Pradesh. First of all Thank you gr8ambitionz for providing us with good material to prepare for competitive exams. I gave my UIIC AO exam today (28 dec,2014) morning shift.

This is the first time i'm writing any kind of insurance exams. I have already written other bank exams , so i was not nervous.

I have started with General Awareness.. it took me 15-20 min to attempt 21 bits not 100% accurate. Most of the questions are from financial sector and few from current affairs

like

• nobel prize
• book and author
• important day
• country- currency
• country - capital
• obituary
• summits

Then Computers, took around 5-7min for complete 20questions attempted all 20. they were basic. software-hardware, browser, storage, file saving, binary digit, input device,  RAM etc .,

Then English, i took 30min, there was a passage related to insurance where i have wasted my time, then para jumble , fill in the blanks (2 blanks in each question), sentence correction, spotting error, cloze test. i have attempted 29 overall.

Then Reasoning, i took 30-40min, attempted all 50, questions were related to

• coding- decoding
• blood relations
• data sufficiency
• statement- conclusion
• cause- effect
• sitting arrangement puzzle (3 facing center and the other out side)
• 8 floored building
• 7 friends 7 colours 3 cars
• syllogism
• inequalities

and Finally Quantitative Aptitude 30min i could attempt only 20(out of 50), i didn't see the entire QA paper. Questions were related to

• Simplifications,
• Series
• Interest
• Equations
• Data interpretation  - a Table , a Pie chart, and a graph
• partnership
• boat and stream
• time distance speed

immediately after objective, Descriptive has started on the computer and the answers are to be written by typing, there are 3 Questions

First is an Essay 250 words are to be written for 10marks

there were 3 options (all of them are related to financial sector)

i) write an essay on insurance frauds

ii) what are the effects of increase in FDI upto 49%

i don't remember the 3rd one

(while answering, the number of choice question (i or ii or iii) should be mentioned)

then there is a Precise Writing which is based on the types of insurance - advantages and disadvantages of term and permanent insurance.

and the final question is a Letter Writing and obviously it is also about the insurance

i) write a letter to your friend about unable to buy insurance policy and benefits of group insurance

ii)write a letter to editor about insurance policies

i don't remember the 3rd one

(while answering, the number of choice question (i or ii or iii) should be mentioned)

My over all experience 

• Objective
• Reasoning - easy to moderate (my attempt - 50/50)
• Quantitative aptitude - moderate (my attempt - 20/50)
• General awareness - moderate to difficult (my attempt - 21/40)
• English - moderate (my attempt - 29/40)
• Computers - easy(my attempt - 20/20)
• Over all attempts 140/200
• Descriptive - difficult (attempted all three questions)
