RBI fines IDFC Bank and Yes Bank for violations
The Yes Bank Ltd was slapped with fine for non-compliance with the directions issued by RBI on Income Recognition Asset Classification (IRAC) norms and delayed reporting of information security incident involving ATMs of the bank. The IDFC Bank Ltd was fined for contravention of regulatory restrictions pertaining to loans and advances.
The penalties have been imposed in exercise of powers vested in the Reserve Bank under the provisions of section 11(3) of FEMA 1999, taking into account the violations of the instructions/directions/guidelines issued by Reserve Bank of India from time to time.

Impact of unearthing of black money on the Indian economy
Black money is usually not legitimate and it is therefore not disclosed. In India, the concept of black money is not new. The practice of giving and taking of bribes to get work done easily and quickly is perhaps the root cause from where the concept of illegal money originated. This illegal form of money is received by corrupt politicians, bureaucrats and other administrative bodies at different levels. As this is an illegal form of money, the recipient cannot disclose this income but it is still an income that circulates in the economy through various channels.
A large part of the black money is usually invested in the building and construction industry; gems and jewellery industry; and the film and entertainment industry. Apart from this, it has emerged from media reports that a significant amount of black money is used to fund the election campaigns of different political parties.

A call was made to potential investors to partner in boosting India's economy by setting up their manufacturing units in the country. But, this could be made possible only when big changes were made in India's policies of trade and commerce. The environment was not friendly to foreign investors, rules, policies and schemes were often complicated and unintelligible. They were not conducive to inviting foreign currency. Make in India is not a hollow cry or slogan, It matches perfectly with PM Modi's words 'Minimum Government, Maximum Governance'.The working and policies related to the initiative were made available online, they were easy to understand and follow. Transparency and lucidity in the working were brought about. Most sectors were opened to FDI, including Defence, Tea plantations and railways. Patents and copyrights were issued under Intellectual Property Rights. Many clearances can be received online and Income Tax too can be filled online. Information on how to invest in 25 sectors is available online in a simple and comprehensible format.
