International Current Affairs

• Prevention of Blindness Week 2018 is being observed from 1st of April 2018  to 7th April 2018.
• This campaign is planned by the Government of India for increasing the awareness towards the blind people.
  

National Current Affairs

• Today is Utkala Dibasa (Odisha Day).
• On this day in the year 1936, the Odisha state was formed as a separate province.
• Important Details about Odisha :
• Capital : Bhubaneswar
• Official Language : Odia
• Chief Minister : Naveen Patnaik
• Governor : Satya Pal Malik
• The 114th meeting of the Permanent Indus Commission (PIC) between India and Pakistan was recently held in New Delhi.
• Representatives from both sides discussed Indus Water Treaty (IWT) dispute and resolution of outstanding issues.
• India’s Indus water commissioner PK Saxena and Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) officials were part of Indian delegation.
• Pakistan’s six-member delegation was led by Syed Muhammad Mehar Ali Shah.

Awards & Honors

• The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad has received the award for the 'Most Improved Airport' in the Asia Pacific region, in Airport Service Quality awards 2017 organised by the Airport Council International (ACI).

Banking, Business & Economic Affairs

• Businesses and transporters shipping goods worth more than ₹50,000 from one state to another will have to carry GST e-way bill starting 1st April 2018. 
• The e-way bill was first introduced on February 1 but was withdrawn after the GST portal developed glitches. 
• The system is being implemented primarily to curb tax evasion and boost revenues.
• Delhi has become the 1st Indian city to upgrade to "Ultra-Clean" Euro-VI grade Petrol and Diesel from Euro-IV grade fuels.
• The newer fuel, which went on retail sale, is expected to combat air pollution by reducing sulphur emissions by around 80%. 
• India has replaced Vietnam to become 2nd largest producer of mobile phones in 2017. 
• China stood at the top position.

Sports Current Affairs

• India U-16 were crowned champions of the Jockey Cup International Youth Invitational Football Tournament by defeating hosts Hong Kong 4-2 in the finals.
• Britain's Anthony Joshua beat New Zealand's Joseph Parker to add the WBO heavyweight world championship title to his tally of WBA, IBO and IBF world heavyweight championship titles which he currently holds.
