  • Harmony - a situation in which people are peaceful and agree with each other
  • Deepen - if a feeling or relationship deepens, or if something deepens it, it becomes stronger
  • Uncertainty - a nervous feeling that you have because you think bad things might happen
  • Pioneering - using ideas and methods that have never been used before
  • Strategic - carefully planned in order to achieve a particular goal, especially in war, business, or politics
  • Bilateral - involving two groups or countries
  • Flux - a condition of continuous change
  • Counter - to take action in order to oppose or stop something or reduce its negative effects
  • Alliance - an arrangement between two or more people, groups, or countries by which they agree to work together to achieve something
  • Abdicate - to stop accepting a particular responsibility or obligation that you have
  • Pullout - an occasion when someone decides not to be in a competition / agreement any more
  • Accord - a formal agreement between countries or groups
  • Reciprocal - done according to an arrangement by which you do something for someone who does the same thing for you
  • Logistics - the practical arrangements that are necessary in order to organize something successfully, especially something involving a lot of people or equipment
  • Quadrilateral - involving four groups
  • Diversify - to develop into something different
  • Posture - an attitude, or the way that someone behaves towards other people
  • Fossil-fuel - a fuel such as coal or oil, made from decayed material from animals or plants that lived many thousands of years ago
  • Daunting - something that is daunting makes you worried because you think that it will be very difficult or dangerous to do
  • Respectively - used for saying that something happens separately to each of the people or things mentioned in the order in which they were mentioned
  • Contradiction - a difference in two or more statements, ideas, stories etc that makes it impossible for both or all of them to be true
  • Contend with - to have to deal with problems or difficulties, especially in order to achieve something
  • Tariff - a tax that a government charges on goods that enter or leave their country
  • Drastically - in a way that is likely to have a strong or far-reaching effect
  • Fickle - weather that is fickle changes often and unexpectedly
  • Negotiation - formal discussions in which people or groups try to reach an agreement
  • Substantive - important or serious
  • Pluralistic - relating to or advocating a system in which two or more states, groups, principles, sources of authority, etc., coexist
  • Convergence - a situation in which people or things gradually become the same or very similar
  • Ambition - something that you very much want to do, usually something that is difficult to achieve

  • Intercept - to stop, catch, or take control of someone or something before they can get to the place they are going to
  • Conveyance - the process of moving people, animals, or goods from one place to another
  • Assessee - a person or group that is being assessed (= judged), especially in order to decide how much tax they must pay
  • Render - to provide a service, or to give help to someone or something
  • Prone - likely to do something or be affected by something, especially something bad
  • Defer - to delay something until a later time
  • Exporter - a person, business, or country that sells goods to another country
  • Taxman - someone whose job is to collect taxes
