  • South Korea and United States have launched Vigilant Ace, their largest-ever joint aerial drills. 
    • The exercise comes after North Korea tested Hwasong-15, its most advanced and powerful Inter Continental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) as part of its weapons programme.
National Current Affairs
  • The Indian Navy Day is being observed today. 
    • India observe this day on 4th December to commemorate the launch of Operation Trident against Pakistan's naval headquarters during the 1971 Indo-Pak War. 
  • The Telangana Government is going to set up the World’s first Information and Technology (IT) Campus for differently-abled persons (Divyangs) in state capital Hyderabad.
  • The Madhya Pradesh Assembly has unanimously passed a bill that imposes death penalty for convicts in rape and gangrape cases involving girls aged 12 years or below
  • The 11th Annual MedTech Summit of Biodesign Programme was held in New Delhi
    • It was inaugurated by Minister of Science & Technology, Earth Sciences and Environment, Forests & Climate Change Dr. Harsh Vardhan.
    • The summit was organised by Department of Biotechnology (DBT) under the Bio Design Programme and was attended by leaders of government organisations, academia, medical device industry, start-ups, hospitals, design, business and engineering institutes from Australia, Finland, Canada, India, Germany, Japan, Singapore, UK and USA.

  • Kolkata-based driver Dipak Das will be felicitated with the Manush Sanman award for not honking in the past 18 years.  
  • The 23d Star Screen Awards were concluded in Mumbai last night. The annual film awards show, which recognises the best of talent in Hindi films, saw in attendance who's who of Bollywood.  Here is the complete winners list.

Science & Technology
  • The Indian government has launched a nasal foreign body removal device titled Noxeno. 
    • Noxeno was developed by a Bangalore based start-up , InnAccel Technologies Private Limited. 
    • Note : Noxeno is first dedicated tool for anterior Nasal Foreign Body (NFB) removal.
  • China today launched a land exploration satellite into a preset orbit.
    • Launched from China's Gansu Province, the satellite has been designed for remote sensing exploration of land resources.
Banking, Business & Economic Affairs
  • Paytm Payments Bank today rolled out Paytm FASTag to enable electronic toll fee collection on highways across India without having to stop. 
    • The tag, linked to a Paytm account, uses Radio-Frequency Identification Technology (RFID) to automatically deduct toll charges.
    • Important Note : The government made 'FASTag' mandatory on every new vehicle sold from December 1.
Sports Current Affairs
  • Indian archer Deepika Kumari has won Bronze medal at Indoor Archer World Cup Stage 2 at Bangkok by defeating Sayana Tsyrempilova of Russia.
