P V Sindhu : 1st Indian Shuttler to lift the Korea Open

Indian Badminton ace P V Sindhu today became the first Indian badminton player to lift the Korea Super Series title. Today she defeated World Championships gold winner, Nozomi Okuhara (Japan), in the women’s singles final held at Seoul.  This was her third Super Series title and second this year.

Ajay Jayaram was the first Indian to reach the final of Korea Open in 2015 and Sindhu became the second one but went one step ahead of Jayaram by winning the title.

Note : Sindhu has now won three international titles this year, after claiming the Syed Modi International and India Open titles. This was world number four Sindhu's fourth win over Okuhara in eight encounters.
