Friends, all of you know, after the Narendra Modi government announced a ban on  Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 500 notes to choke tax evaders in November 2016, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released Four banknotes of new denomination in the Mahatma Gandhi (new) Series. You will surely get a question regarding these new notes in your upcoming IBPS Bank Exams 2107. So here are some important points to keep in mind about the new denomination ₹50, ₹200, ₹500 and ₹2000 currency notes. Happy Reading :)

Main Features of New RBI Notes (Very Important for Exams)

Size :

  • ₹2000 - 66 mm x 166 mm 
  • ₹500 - 66mm x150mm
  • ₹200 - 66 mm x 146 mm
  • ₹50 - 66 mm x 135 mm

Colour :

  • ₹2000 - Magenta
  • ₹500 - Stone grey
  • ₹200 - Yellow-Saffron
  • ₹50 - Fluorescent blue

Motifs :

  • ₹2000 - Mangalayan
  • ₹500 - Red Fort
  • ₹200 - Sanchi Stupa
  • ₹50 - Hampi with Chariot

Front Side
  1. See through register with denominational numeral 2000

  5. Micro letters ‘RBI’ and ‘2000’ on the left side of the banknote
  6. Windowed security thread with inscriptions ‘भारत’, RBI and 2000 on banknotes with colour shift. Colour of the thread changes from green to blue when the note is tilted
  7. Guarantee Clause, Governor’s signature with Promise Clause and RBI emblem towards right
