Meet the New Heads of Indian Army, Indian Air Force, RAW and IB

The Indian government today announced the appointment of new heads for Indian Army, Indian Air Force, Research Analysis Wing (RAW) and Intelligence Bureau (IB).

Lieutenant general Bipin Rawat, who belongs to the 5th Battalion of 11th Gorkha Rifles,  has been appointed as the new chief of Army Staff. He is going to replace Dalbir Singh, who will retire at the end of this month.
Air Marshal B.S. Dhanoa, a Kargil war veteran, has been appointed as the new chief of Air Staff. He is going to replace Arup Raha at the hel of Air Staff.

Anil Dhasmana, a Madhya Pradesh-cadre IPS officer from the 1981 batch, has been appointed as the next head of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). He is going to replace Rajinder Khanna. He will have the tenure of two years.


Rajiv Jain, a Jharkhand-cadre IPS officer from the 1980 batch,  has been appointed as the next chief of Intelligence Bureau (IB). He is going to replace Dineshwar Sharma.  He will have the tenure of two years.
