Interview Experience of IBPS Specialist Officers - Marketing

Hello friends i am Rohit, my IBPS SO Marketing interview took place on 16th at 1 pm.   

Venue : Bank Of Maharashtra , Regional Office Mumbai

Panel : 4

There were 25 candidates in my batch. Staff was very co-operative. Interview panel consisted of 5 members and 1 female member. My turn came at 4-30 pm.

(Background- My number was 7th and i was sitting outside the interview room. Panel was grilling candidates like anything, candidates coming outside the interview room were reacting like “ Tough Panel hai,,, they are asking anything,,,, jitley ne 2 din pehle kya announce kiya,,,, panel sentence complete nahi hone de te,,, and all. What I learned from all this remarks was ,panel was taking stress interview,

My turn came.

Me: (Knocked door twice, Peep inside and took permission to enter) “Good evening Maam, Good evening

Sir”

Panel- Good Evening

(M2 recognized me ,he was there in Nagpur in the panel of PO, he said- “arey aap yah ape bhi ,,, He said to the chairmen- “Sir listen to this candidate , he talks well “ mera confidence 10 times ho gaya tha.

M3(Chairman)- Tell me about yourself.

Me- Sir my name is Rohit , Born and bought up in Amravati, I have done my graduation in BBA, later I did my PG in Management with Marketing as specialization, I have cleared NET and now I have submitted Summery of my Phd. I have 5 years of experience in teaching. Regarding my family- I live in a joint family with my parents, brother ,sister in law, niece, my wife and my 2 years old daughter. I am thrice color coat holder in dance and drama events.

Lady panelist – Phd bhi

Me – I nodded and said Yes maam.

M4- Probationary Officer or Marketing Officer –Select one

Me- Sir I will not lie to you, I will select one whose posting will be near to my home town.

M4- You know what are you saying?

Me- Yes sir, I want to live with my family as long as it is possible, it doesn’t mean that I resist to locate at other place, it is just I will fetch every single opportunity to be with my family.

(Panel gave positive reaction to my explanation)

Lady Panelist -. What will you choose, Leadership or Team Member

Me:- (I knew the answer is Leadership, But I gave different answer) Maam, I would like to be a team member

(Lady Panelist interrupted me)

Lady Panelist- You should choose leadership, because if you get select you will have to perform tasks of leader.

Me:- I agree with you maam but if I am not aware about processes, rules and regulations, formats, how can I lead someone? I will prefer to be team member till I learn all the things. Leadership needs knowledge and experience and I believe without these two important factors I will land up making several mistakes and in banking a single mistake may cost thousands and lakhs.

Lady Panelist- that’s right.

M5-Explain bouncing of cheque.

Me- Explained in detail

M2- Why don’t you open MBA institute?

Me: Sir, I belong to middle class family and to open a MBA institute it needs huge finance, also teaching fraternity today is way different from decade back, I think it is not my cup of tea to open MBA institute.

M3 (Chairmen) asked M1 to ask question, he remarked- Kya puchu inhe, All the best beta.

M3: Thank you very much Rohit, all the best

Me: Thank you sir. Thank you Madam
