Topic 1 : "Evasive politics on Muzaffarnagar"
  • Evasive - answering ​questions in a way that is not ​direct or ​clear, ​especially because you do not ​want to give an ​honest ​answer
  • Fated - not ​able to be ​avoided because ​planned by a ​power that ​controls ​events
  • Riots - a violent disturbance of the peace by a crowd
  • Inquiring - wanting to ​know something
  • Exaggeration - a statement that represents something as better or worse than it really is
  • Coursed - developed
  • Overwhelming - very ​great or very ​large
  • Omission - someone or something that has been left out or excluded
  • Exonerated - to ​state that someone is not ​guilty of something
  • Combustive - the process of burning
  • Rousing - exciting
  • Dwellings - a ​house or ​place to ​live in
  • Survivors - people who are ​able to ​continue ​living ​their ​life ​successfully ​despite ​experiencing difficulties
  • Fled - escaped by ​running away
  • Distinguished - successful
  • Haste - excessive speed / hurry
  • Deliberate - done consciously and intentionally
  • Gloss over something - to ​avoid ​considering something (such as an ​embarrassing ​mistake, to make it ​seem not ​important, and to ​quickly ​continue ​talking about something ​else)
  • Deny - to say that something is not ​true
  • Discourse - written or spoken communication or debate
  • Indeed - used to introduce a further and stronger or more surprising point
  • Polarising - to ​divide into two ​completely ​opposing ​groups
  • Campaign - work in an organized and active way towards a goal
  • Regretting - feel sad, or disappointed over something that you have done or failed to do
  • Divisive - used to ​describe something that ​causes ​great and sometimes ​unfriendly ​disagreement within a ​group of ​people

  • Allogeneic - taken from different individuals
  • Transfusion - an act of transferring blood
  • Endurance - the ​ability to ​keep doing something ​difficult for a ​long ​time
  • Nonetheless - in spite of that / nevertheless
  • Inclined - to have an ​opinion about something
  • Adequately - satisfactorily / in an acceptable manner
  • Necessitated - to ​cause something to be ​needed, or to make something ​necessary
  • Retroactive - to have ​effect from a ​date before something (a law) was ​approved
  • Therapeutic - relating to the healing of disease / treatment
  • Underlines - highlights
  • Catch up - to ​reach the same ​quality or ​standard as someone or something ​else
  • Offender - a person who commits an illegal act
