ReplyDeleteI just put forward my doubt regarding the options.When you say Aadhar number it will come only with the Aadhar Card.
ReplyDeleteAlso in the options it is given as "PAN" and not as "PAN Card".So as per the options the answer should be 1.Passport.
The largest public sector bank is SBI.

ReplyDelete1. Karur Vysya Bank has bagged the Best Bank Award of IDRBT .
2. The Finance Ministry is considering amendments to the RBI Act 1934 to enable the central bank appoint a 5th Deputy Governor and a Chief Operating Officer (COO).
3. Exim Bank extends two additional Lines of Credit to Cuban Bank ‘Banco Exterior De Cuba’
aggregating $7.76 million .
4. RBI has signed a pact with Central Bank of Kenya for exchange of information and supervisory cooperation.
5. Bank of India (BOI) gets licence to set up bank in Vietnam .
6. SBI launched a facility called 'mPassBook', on its 'State Bank Anywhere' mobile
application, for its retail banking users.
7. RBI came out with an additional criterion that ‘Implementation of Core Banking Solution’ for classifying an urban co-operative bank (UCB) as financially sound and well managed (FSWM).
8. The new Monetary Policy Framework Agreement, which aims to change the monetary policy formulation and will also focus on inflation targeting, is proposed to be signed by 1 February 2015 as announced by the Finance Ministry recently.
9. The upcoming Bandhan Bank has appointed FIS International, one of the largest
banking and payments technology solutions provider globally, to develop its core banking software solutions.

Nationalized banks is the name given to those banks which were nationalised in 1969(14 banks) and 1980(6 banks).Currently there are 19 of them. These banks are:
1.Allahabad Bank
2.Bank of Baroda
3.Bank of Maharashtra
4.Bank of India
5.Central Bank of India
6.Canara Bank
7.Dena Bank
8.Indian Bank
9.Indian Overseas Bank
10.Punjab National Bank
11.Syndicate Bank
12.Union Bank of India
13.United Commercial Bank (UCO Bank)
14.United Bank of India
15.Andhra Bank
16.Corporation Bank
17.Oriental Bank of Commerce
18.Punjab and Sindh Bank
19.Vijaya Bank
(NB: Actually there were 20 nationalised banks but The New Bank of India merged with Punjab National Bank in 1993.)
Public sector banks are those in which govt has more than 50% share. Also to note that nationalised banks also come in the category of public sector banks.Currently there are 27 public sector banks.They are:
19 banks mentioned above.
20.State Bank of India
21.State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur
22..State Bank of Hyderabad
23.State Bank of Mysore
24.State Bank of Patiala
25.State Bank of Travancore
26.IDBI Bank Ltd.
27.Bharatiya Mahila Bank.
Here SBI,SBBJ,SBH,SBM,SBP,SBT,IDBI and BMB are NOT called nationalised banks but are called public sector banks. Note that the 19 nationalised banks can be called as public sector banks as well.
So Important Points to be noted are:
* Number of Public Sector banks is 27.
* Number of Nationalised banks is 19.
* Largest Public Sector Bank is SBI.
* Largest Nationalised Bank is PNB.
* You can also say that PNB is the second largest Public Sector Bank.
