National Affairs

  • Founder and chairperson of Hyderabad based pharmacy giant Dr.Reddy’sLaborateries (DRL), K. Anji Reddy died yesterday.
  • ISUZU Motors, Japanese automotive giant signed an agreement with Government of Andhra Pradesh to establish its manufacturing unit in the state at Sri City SEZ (Special Economic Zone).
  • Parliament adopted resolution against Pakistan National Assembly’s resolution condemning death sentence to Afzal Guru.
  • Noted environmentalist and mahant of Sankatmochan temple of Varanasi, Dr.VeeraBhadra Mishra died on Wednesday. He is the founding president of SankatMochan Foundation, a non-profit organisation working for the cause of river Ganga.

  • Kenichi Ayukawa was appointed as new Managing Director and CEO of Maruthi Suzuki on Friday.

Sports

  • Indian government rejected permission to bilateral hockey series between India and Pakistan due to security reasons.
